I’ve found I prefer rowing distance because I can put on an audiobook and forget that I’m even rowing. It’s how I wind down at the end of the day. I work in EHS, which requires full focus, and rowing gives me a way to shift gears.
I’m an introvert by nature, so the erg suits me. Maybe after retirement I’ll get out on the water, but for now I’m here for the quiet consistency of distance rowing.
