Won WU17 2k, missed a PR by 4 seconds

Won WU17 500m, yay.

USrowing indoor nationals
got 2nd in the 500m with my erg sprints time and 3rd in the 2000m.

worlds is friday.

March 13th, 2024:
Got 13th in the world :)
Also got first in the relay and 500m at Indy Sprints (didn't end up 2k'ing).

April 25th, 2024:
Okay so cincinatti was decently good. w1v8+ and w1v4+ B. Had we not seat raced this past week, I was gonna challenge for one to get into the A 4+. We seat raced (had a pre-seat race panic attack in front of our new coach) then proceeded to win all 7 of my races. Yay! I'm in an honest 1v8+ this weekend and the 1v4+ and I'm so fucking excited. I also got invited to the YDC pairs camp.

May 8th, 2024:
Dogwood was pretty good. We finished 5th in the time trial for the 4+ which is pretty damn good. The 4+ is better than the 8+. Indy Sprints was also really good. I medaled in all 3 events. Bronze in the 1x (missed silver by 2.2 seconds, RIP) silver in the 4+ (westerville's lineup was different than Dogwood, so I blame losing to them on that, also they didn't even try in their heat race). Gold in the 8+. It was a close race, we were last off the stakeboats because of a bad point, but we recovered and walked through 6 other boats to win by 4 seconds.

May 13, 2024:
So I got invited to selection development camp but we decided I wouldn't go. I think that's a good idea. I'd be with a lot of older people and I don't know if I could commit to a month of rowing twice a day yet. We had a very aggressive week of practices last week including 2x2k, (10,8,6,4,2) all at race pace, etc. Crazy. Midwests this weekend! Get hype!

September 3rd, 2024:
My prior entry was actually written just hours before I was removed from the 1v4 because of my concussion thing, after I was told it would not impact my seat, and then our coach quit the next morning after promising me a seat race.

September 18, 2024:
So like, not in the Charles 4+ which is rough, but I'm in the 1v4x so like, that'll be cool.

September 23, 2024:
Dude Cuyahoga was goated! We passed 3 boats in the 8+ and ended up winning, and in the 4x we passed 6 boats (including 2 boats into the next race) and ended up in 2nd. Unfortunatley, my watch flew off my wrist about 3 strokes into the race and went into the water (RIP). It was a great weekend. BTW Hoover did get cancelled for drought conditions, so we may go to Head of the Rock now. We'll see.

October 16th, 2024:
Head of the Rock was one of the worst run regattas I've ever been to. Oh my good God it was bad. They literally had to come and ask what color my single was (IKR). I raced the single, the quad, and the eight. I got 5th of 19 in the single in my first single head race ever! In the quad we got 5th and the u17's got third so that was a lil embarrassing. The 8+ was damn good considering the wind, and we ended up in 3rd to New Trier and St Louis!!! I will be happy to never go back there again. It sucked. But, Haxton and Hooch will be fun.

October 29th, 2024:
I told someone last week that Haxton sucks. This past weekend made me want to retract that statement. It was goated. We got 3rd in the 2v4x after a hella fun race where we were all yelling at each other, and 3rd in the 8+ (which I thought we did terribly originally). HOOCH WEEK!!!! I'm actually so so so excited.

December 3rd, 2024:
WOW. Hooch 2024 done. It was incredible. The vibe of our group before we launched for the 8+ was incredible. It was so cool. We ended up getting 5th after starting right before SA and holding them off for 2000m! We go sandwiched between a collegiate novice 8+ and asheville's youth 8+ in the last 100m, but 5th is still great! The single was the next morning. I didn't feel that great going into it and i was tired and cold, but I finished it and I think I got a guaranteed entry for next year. Pretty cool. We're decently into winter now. I've 2k'ed and 6'ked, and I PR'ed my 6k!!! I'm excited to see what happens.

January 27, 2025:
Heyyyy queens. I rowed in Florida for a day which was cool (almost a full half marathon) and I raced virtual hooch like the day after I got back and actually won it again, but it was SO fun. Like it was one of the most fun Erg races I've done. Coco was giving me a run for my money. I remember I dropped my plan about 1 minute in because I wasn't hitting splits (which I actually did kind of do my plan without knowing it) and I hit the last 500 and coco was I think 11 meters ahead of me. I knew I could catch her and started booking it, and my last 500 was a 1:48 and I beat her by I think 3 or 4 seconds. It was actually such a fun race.

February 24th, 2025:
Oh my gawdddd. We went to Tiro cup for nats. The building was kinda jank but it was cool. I was in the 2nd heat for the 2k and I remember watching the first heat and seeing one of my friends ( the winner of H1) pull exactly my PR, to the tenth. Horrified. I ended up beating her by .2 :). I was gassed after. Their were only 2 of us in the 500 and I won it by like 9 seconds. 2 weeks later was worlds. I raced the 500 at AFCO with everyone yelling and I ended up getting 3rd :).

March 11th, 2025:
I survived Indy Indoor 2025. It wasn't that bad. Almost no girls PR'ed except for Eleanore, Ingy, and Mary, but everyone finished. I got 4th overall. Mom and I won the Parent child which was kinda fire and our relay team won with a 6:57. It was really hot in there but it was a good day. OH MY GOD YESTERDAY WAS OUR FIRST DAY BACK AT THE BH AND THE ENERGY WAS INCREDIBLE. You could tell we were all so excited to be there. Never have I looked down at a blister the next morning and smiled, but today I did because it meant we were BACK ON THE FREAKING WATER. It was actually such a great practice.

March 21st, 2025:
We have our scrimmage in St. Louis tmrw! I'm super excited. We're racing the 8+ twice in the afternoon, and the 4+ (fire lineup) once in the morning. Our lineup is Saylor, Devyn, Me, Mary, (in other words the leftovers/Scullers of the 1v8). Scullers 4+ is real af. Aidah's coxing. Last time we raced a scullers boat vs a sweepers boat in a sweep boat, the scullers won. We'll see. I'm excited.

April 2, 2025:
The St. Louis scrimmage was dope! We raced the 2v4 once and the 1v8 twice. In all 3 races we finished in 2nd in contact with St.L with open water on OKC. It was super fun. There was a moment when we were about to launch the 4+ when we realized that everyone except for me had braided ponytails so I ripped my bun out and braided it to match. So that was that. We seat raced the 4xs yesterday and it was wack. I lost the first 3, but then won the next 2 once I got into the demo. Meier said she was told to row not at peak capacity and I started yelling about how she was throwing the race. Apparently my technique was good enough to save me, and the 1V4x has been settled as (Stroke to bow) Saylor, Devyn, me, and Ingie. Not too bad. I'm really excited for this boat now. I did realize, tho, that I haven't raced a normal quad since spring of 2021. I have never raced a true spring race in a 4x. It's actually insane. I'm so excited though. We have a scrimmage with GM this weekend. I know we're rowing the quads, and then some good Madi/Mary vs. Becca/Callie racing. I hope we can single. We'll see!
