Originally from Texas (Nacogdoches, Houston). USNA Class of 1975 (BSEE); Naval Flight Officer in P-3 ASW aircraft (VP11, VP-5); Naval Postgraduate School 1991 (MSCS). Taught CompSci at USNA for final tour, started CS Robotics & Computer Vision course (SI475). Retired as Commander (0-5) in 1995. Systems engineer in Maryland. Moved to western North Carolina in 2016 to babysit grandsons. Have had both knees replaced 10+ years ago, one hip in 2020, the second in 2024.
